A whole house beats four hotel rooms
If you are running a crew across Kent, you already know the arithmetic. Four rooms, four breakfasts you cannot eat at half six, nowhere to dry anything, and everyone sitting alone watching the telly.
The house, midweek, to yourselves
Four bedrooms sleeping up to eight, a working kitchen, a sitting room big enough for all of you, laundry on site and gravel parking well off the lane with room for vans.
We are a mile and a half from the A20, with the M20, M26 and M25 just beyond - so most of Kent, the coast, Ebbsfleet and the Dartford crossing are a sensible drive rather than an expedition.
Midweek is when holiday lets sit empty and hotels charge the most. That is the gap this is aimed at, and we would rather fill it with the same few teams every month than with strangers.
Built for people who work, not people on holiday
- Four bedrooms, sleeps up to eightEveryone under one roof and nobody sharing a bed with the site foreman.
- A real kitchenCook properly at seven in the evening or six in the morning. Dishwasher, oven, hob, fridge, the lot.
- Laundry on siteWashing machine and tumble dryer, so a wet week is not a disaster.
- Parking for vansGravel, off-road, room for several vehicles, nothing left on the lane.
- 1.5 miles from the A20M20, M26 and M25 close behind it. Easy out in the morning, easy back at night.
- Somewhere to sit downA 23ft sitting room with a log burner, and a garden to stand about in.
- Weekly rates and invoicesProper paperwork for the accounts, not a booking confirmation email.
- The same house every timeRegular arrangements welcome. You will not be bidding against half-term.
Things a site manager would want to know
Can we book yet?
Not yet, and we are not taking deposits. Join the list below and we will come back to you with dates and rates as soon as we have them. If you have a job coming up in the area, say so in the message box - it genuinely affects how fast we move.
What will it cost?
We are not going to invent a number to put on a page. What we can say is that the intention is a weekly rate for the whole house that works out below four hotel rooms for the same nights, because otherwise there is no reason for you to be here. Tell us what you currently pay and it will help us set it sensibly.
Do you take invoices and purchase orders?
Yes. Proper invoices for the company, on terms we agree.
Early starts and late finishes?
You have the house. There is no reception, no breakfast sitting and nobody to disturb - the owner's part of the building is separate with its own entrance.
What is the access like for a long wheelbase van?
The turning off Seven Mile Lane is set back and needs care, and the lane is fast, so pulling out takes patience. The track itself is gravel and comfortably wide, and the parking area is open. A transit or long wheelbase is no problem; an artic is.
Can we leave tools and materials?
Let us talk about it. There is outbuilding space and a lockable yard, and if a regular arrangement makes sense we would rather solve this than have you loading the van every Thursday.
Is there wifi?
There is broadband. Upgrading it is on the list, and there is a tick box about it on the form - if teams tell us it matters, it gets done before we open.
